False Images in the News

I use image in the sense of given perception or concept that the media portrays of different stories and people. The media loves to sensationalize many things to appeal and attract many readers/viewers, but unfortunately-to a degree- where religious figures are being attacked as anti-American.

The media loves to crop and cut and scoop and "fix" whatever media is given to them and the video of presidential candidate, Barack Obama's, former pastor has been, for lack of a better word, corrupted by the media.

The irresponsibility of the News in the the story's context has aroused many issues in the Presidential Campaign 2008, which has otherwise negatively influenced many people's views of Obama and his views.

This is a form of abusive communication, I believe. Watch the full video to understand how the media abused it.

Yep. That's good ole "need something sensational, new, and timely to put in the news" attitude driving that story. When you see this sermon in context of of the Rev. was talking about, you realize he's using America, something we can all relate to, to understand a teaching. I think this happens all too often. Just thinking back to today's lecture with images of science in film. By taking out of context long, sleepless nights for an experiment here or there, the tendency to sometimes not give a crap what you look like to get the job done, the need for glasses because you stare at really small things (usually)....you get the stereotypical scientist.
