Huffington Post

I was just reading a New Yorker article about how newspapers are slowly phasing out and being replaced by internet and blogs, and this website huffingtonpost.com was mentioned as a source of news plug blogging in one. I found this to be exactly the point I was trying to make in the last paper about how blogs are the link between news and readers to discuss the things that they read.

Venturing over to the website, today's top story is clearly the PA Democratic primary election, with a news article about it, a "Quick Read" link if you want the gist of the story without reading the whole article (again questioning ways to communicate information), and then a link to comments with more than 500 people commenting away with their thoughts on the election.

I think this site is an example of what blogs essentially offer in terms of offering information and a medium to discuss, and one of the main points I was making in the paper. If only I'd read the magazine before writing my paper... ;)

I definitely agree with you on this posting. After writing that second paper and really analyzing the role that blogging takes in the dissemination of today's news, it is evident that blogging is an importatn medium all on its own. Learning about the huffingtonpost.com was interesting, and yes, it probably would've helped to read this before the paper ha.
