Measles in U.S. at Highest Level Since 2001

I know that I've been posting and commenting a lot about the measles situation in the U.S. and the debates on vaccinations, but I though I would post one last article on the progression of the story and the recently released statistics. I would also like to point out the second paragraph of the article:

"Most of the cases have occurred in people who were never vaccinated."

I really think that the use of vaccinations is critical to the management of these infectious agents, and I wanted to again emphasize my personal opinion about the use of vaccinations, as well as hear (or rather read,) everyone's final opinions of the vaccination debate. I also wanted to point out the "closeness to home" aspect of this article--most outbreaks in the U.S. in the past have been in the midwest, or west coast (although there were a couple cases in PA and VA) but this article points out a recent outbreak in New York City, which I think will instigate more people to take measures to ensure that they have received an MMR vaccine, or to even just be aware of the outbreaks--public awareness, communication of the science, is the first step, I believe to solving this potential epidemic.
